Musings

Doubt seriously that anyone is really reading my blog anymore.

I know that cuz I've not been blogging for the longest time. Decided to upload all my recent events pics to this online photo album where it saves me much writing. People don't say "A picture speaks a thousand words" for nothing.

Some thoughts & updates:
  • I need a hair job, possibly some colour highlights or streaking
  • Been skipping some classes and despise myself for not being as nonchalant about it as friend John Marsh.
  • Joined the SSA (Singapore Student Association) lately to make myself productive of sorts. Doing design stuff for them.
  • Missed church for 2 weeks. Certainly feeling lousy about it.
  • The thought of going home end of the year makes me amazed at how its been almost a year since i'm in Melbourne already
  • And yet, being here in Melbourne makes me feel like I've been here yonkers...
  • Feeling good that I have not indulged in my nasty habits for the longest time.
  • Today, I had a sudden craving for those little fried sotongs pple take with beer at zi char stalls
  • My bobo has shown me consistently how blessed we are to have each other.
  • I always chose to get overwhelmed with emotions by things mom tells me abt back home. Almost feels like that way, I am more connected.
  • An interesting conversation I had today with peimun

me: I feel like sometimes i have died here. If not for the phone calls or msn, there's no proof of my existence.

pm: u're rite

me: its like, u guys just sorta know i'm alive so everyone's doing their thing. If i died, its just minus all the contact. Yeah sure pple will be sad for awhile but i'm sure u will move on, fast...

pm: very forgetable rite

Will end off here... don't get too affected. I am just in one of those moods...

Long overdue...

Hey everyone! I know I've been such a slacker lately. But all will soon get better because school has finally started last week. I'm more settled in now and will not be going out so often. Which means I'll have more time home on the internet = more regular blogging!!!
Ok without wasting too much time/space, let's head straight to the photos. Afterall, a picture does tell a thousand words.
.
Starting from my departure on the 1st Feb...
.

My dearest aunts who always give their unflagging support.
.

My favourite gentle giants. Cousin Bruno(right), Uncle Ivan & his beau Helen.
.

The Ra-ra Cheerleaders. Sweetest girls ever...(urgh)
.

My bestest pal!! Miss her heaps~
.
.
Last but not least, the loves of my life. Didn't think I'd miss them this much till now... Miss them terribly...

St Paul's Cathedral right off Swanston Street, like our Orchard Road.

Mike fr Monash and myself.
An amusing tale of how i met him. At the Changi Airport on the day I was leaving, as I was unloading my luggage from the car, someone from the car behind called my dad. It turns out he's a mate from work. So anyways he has a son who's headed for Melbourne as well. What a coincidence huh. (Who else, Mike lah) So i look over n saw this rather "dao" looking fella. Decided to ignore him, only realised later its just him being a sotong.
.
On the plane, I was awakened by Sharon who said some guy spoke to her. I was like Woah! A pick up already! Here is their confusing exchange.
............
Sharon: (making her way to the loo in semi-darkness)
M: (Exclaims!) Hey your dad knows my dad yeah!
S: Huh?(unsure if that was the latest pick up line)
M: Your dad drives a M6 right, the Zoom Zoom(with motion emphasis)
S: Huh???
M: (Sheepishly)Oh sorry, think i got the wrong person...
Yeah, its Mike. How bizzare... I identified myself later and now we're friends.

Cute little boys on a little farm outside Crown Casino.

Farm Girl
.

Public toliets which are fully automated. Auto doors, flushing, seat cover washing, taps, doors stay locked for maximum of 10mins b4 opening. So whoever who wants to take a crap in there, think twice about flashing your knickers.
.....................................................
From here on, just continue scrolling down. Order being from arrival to most recent at bottom. Makes my life tonnes easier.

The Crown Casino. More intrigued by the cafes than anything else...

The South Yarra river right next to Crown along South Bank.

View of Flinders Station from South Yarra

Gate to Chinatown

Chinatown

Flinders Station in its full glory.
I take a train from my place in Prahran to Flinders on days that I have classes. A total new experience because trains and trams here allow FOOD TO BE CONSUMED aboard! That means I usually take my breakfast while travelling to school... How cool is that huh!

Victoria Market fresh produce section. Its huge, just like our local pasar only much bigger and cooler. Guess that's why it doesn't smell half as bad.

On a lovely sunday, right outside a al fresco cafe, this is where chess enthusiasts gather to pit their skills. On the 2nd sunday i went, there was a little asian boy of say 11 who beat an older guy. Impressive! That smart kid looked like one of those fr the Brainest Kid show in sg.
